Veronica Skotnes spends a year living at a remote lighthouse in Northern Norway to try to understand the life of lighthouse keepers and the maritime heritage of the region. One day, a voice from history appears, sparking a dialogue between the past and the present. The lighthouse itself becomes an observatory upon a coastal culture struggling to cope with depopulation, climate change, and ecological collapse.

The documentary helps us see our present through a conversation with the past.
