I Norse mythology, Verðandi was one of the three Norns. Together with her two sisters, Urðr and Skuld, they sat by the tree of life, spinning threads of fate that shaped the past, the present, and the future. Urðr ruled over the past, Skuld over the future, while Verðandi was ruler of the present.

Verdandi film was created in 2025 by Veronica Skotnes to weave together stories emerging by the shorelines of the Arctic coast.
